Wilkinson in the bird cage
By Solape Adetutu Adeyemi
And I do not want you kept in the cage
Like we keep Mr. Wilkinson
It’s been up to eight years, yeah, he’s been in that cage
And sometimes I wonder
That he sees me, more than you ever do
Talks too, more than we ever will
What with your late nights and frequent travels
There is really no point keeping you close when you want to let go
Because when you love, you should be able to cut loose
Give you the freedom Mr. Wilkinson can never have, in his bird cage
