A Bike Chain
By Matt Bianca

She gifted me with a bike, I was surprised!

I can take a ride from my reality: Emergence! Anomaly!

After some days, the chain broke and dropped.

I saw that gap in a second.

We are similar to a bike chain,

spinning and spinning,

not realizing we are stuck in the same loop, the same itinerary.

Whenever we have a chance to jump out of this mad cycle,

we get angry because we think it is broken, and we start walking,

with one more burden, a clumsy trike with a flat tire.

In that moment, there is only one sensible thing to do:

throw away the bike, sit down where we stand,

and smile at our cumbersome selves.

Next time, let's up our gratitude game,

revealing  the chance to be fully here.

“Refine the mechanics or scatter them in disarray!”

A silly slogan for a metamorphosis.
